The Teifi Pools via Florida...
T'was a wild day on the coast of Wales - 'Showers - occ Wintery' is what the Met Man said - perfect for a walk to the source of the Teifi - the longest Welsh river 75 miles. There is huge chunk of Wales that is long on space and short on people - and the Teifi rises in the centre of it. The drive to Strata Florida Abbey was ok - when the road ran out it was time to park up. Within 10 mins, the showers were horizontal - another 5 mins and the Wintery bit rocked up... Everything was very soon white and the water surging over the dam. A right turn and it was very like South 'moor - elephant grass, no paths, plenty soggy bit & low rolling hills! At this point the map ran out - I did try and get a proper map but you try n find a decent map shop in mid Wales on a Sunday in February?! Even the hi-tech soln failed - wot no server...!? Still the snow had stopped and the Farm was obvious - even if the bridge wasn't!! It was there and I finally saw a couple of Red Kites. A left onto a track and a trudge back to the Pools. A bit of micro nav - I was back in map coverage!? and I arrived back at the car. An interesting day exploring an interesting part of Wales at it's Wildest...
