Circumnavigating Strumble Head!
Contrary to popular belief, you can buy sun cream in Fishguard in March - OK it took me - 4 shops to find it but it can be bought!? Having said cream the sun promptly did a runner - ho hum. The rest if Team Strumble seem impressed that this was only my 2nd sea kayak trip - everyone has to start somewhere...!? The paddle out was hard work - it felt like it was uphill all the way...!? Lunch was taken on a 10 x 12 ft pebble beach - overlooked by a seal! The paddle south was much easier (Doh!?) Playing in close was fun til i mixed it with a big boulder & big woosh (a tech term!?!) I lost and had a close encounter with some barnacles -after I'd bailed out... Still the phone remained dry & the new paddling rig has been christened!?! We beached at Abercastle - and then everyone one else -who hadn't dunked changed into dry rig - mine was in the car - 10 miles and 60 mins of faffing away... 3 hrs later I finally thawed out - a fab trip,,,,

Wot no bus...
The plan was simple - drive to Newport (the Pembs one) - bus to Lower Fishguard, walk back - easy!? OK, I did grab quick pint but I swear the bus didn't go past... I waited & waited at the bus stop - after 45 mins I binned it & went for Plan B!? Up the hill to the top of the Myndd Carningli then West & South to the Sailors @ Pwllgealodd - coffee(honest) and a ice-cream and it was round Dinas. The chapel(see pic) in Pig y Baw was different... The rtn to Newport was a long plod - every inlet adding klicks to the day...!

The Chair of Idris...
With a stable wx 4cast, it was time to renew an old acquaintance with The Cair of Idris! As was becoming the norm all attempts at obtaining a map came to nothing but hey, the pressure was set high and the sky blue! :-) The car park @ Minfford was quiet - what else would expect at 2 pm on a Sunday aftie - the decadence of setting off up a mtn so late in early March!!

The path up was a pleasant stroll - as it was the last time i did it some 25 yrs ago...

Above Craig Cau, I happened across a fence that was still holding hoar - it's was March!

The summit was devoid of people - but someone had left a fleece tied to the trig PT. A quick check revealed it was size Large - with no one around well it became mine!!! The walk down was tedious - the path was in a poor state but still managed to get back to car by half 5 just as the sun was setting - a fab walk.
